Ten years ago, Kamo Shinnosuke was demoted to a precinct after he shot and killed a fleeing criminal from behind. He and his wife filed for divorce and he was separated from his daughter to live a rough life. However, one day, Shinnosuke is suddenly called back to the prefectural police by Mihara Shutaro, the head of the First Investigative Division. He is assigned to the Sixth Serious Crimes Unit which is an economical, systematic ‘investigation team of the new millennium’ under the direction the unit head, Muto Yusaku. Naturally, Muto calls Shinnosuke ‘leftover scum from Showa’ and does not accept him, while Shinnosuke dismisses Muto’s investigation policy of ‘following the book’ as silly. And so, the two men get into a fierce clash …
